Charity of the Month | The Garage

This month, we shine a spotlight on the local performing arts charity, The Garage.

Operating across two sites in Norwich and King’s Lynn, The Garage Trust serves as a vibrant hub for performing arts, offering a creative backdrop for individuals of all ages. Collaborating with both local and national partners, the trust delivers a diverse range of high-quality arts programming, participation opportunities, educational initiatives, and training sessions.

The Place for Performing Arts at The Garage Norfolk

The Garage provides a space for people to enjoy performing arts all year round, offering theatre, dance, music, and fitness activities. The programme includes weekly classes, outreach and holiday activities, accredited education courses, an artist development programme, presenting small-scale theatre and dance performances and many more.

The charity has a strong passion for engaging with those facing challenges and works closely with young people and their families to use performing arts to change their lives. Alongside the charity, they run regular performing arts classes, GCSE and HNC qualifications, as well as producing live performances in their theatres.

The Garage also provides an Alternative Provision offer to schools which deliver performing arts workshops to small groups of students referred to them. Their facilitators use creative activities to develop relationships, emotional literacy, and communication skills for those facing challenging circumstances. The workshops offered focus on boosting confidence, self-reflection, and practical skills.

Why did we choose to support The Garage?

By supporting The Garage, we not only endorse their mission of enriching lives and nurturing talent but also play a role in fostering a stronger sense of community through the transformative influence of the performing arts.

Additionally, collaborating with The Garage to provide signage solutions amplifies their visibility, ensuring that more individuals in our community can benefit from the opportunities they offer.
