Connect 4 challenge goes on tour to BBC Radio Norfolk

On the 13th December, our managing director Mark Baker took his Connect 4 challenge on tour to the BBC Radio Norfolk studio to play daytime presenter Kayleigh Poacher. It was a great match, and Mark remains champion.

Heading to the BBC Radio Norfolk Studios in The Forum Norwich, Mark was greeted by the production team and taken to the studio ready to set up for the game of Connect 4.

Where did our Connect 4 Challenge start?

The CIM team joined the Little Lifts fundraising initiative ‘Corporate Challenge 250’ to help raise vital funds to continue to provide care boxes to those with breast cancer. The challenge is to enter a fundraising team to take on the challenge. Little Lifts provides funding of £250 to kickstart the team’s fundraising – the challenge is to turn it into £2.500 over 8 months.

When Little Lifts approached us about the challenge, it was a no-brainer. A few of the team have family or friends who have been affected by breast cancer, so it is an important charity to them. Giving back is something we take seriously. Not only did it raise funds for the charity it also helped our team to get together, get out and exercise, improve wellbeing and boost morale.

CIM was part of a group of three businesses including SaxonAir and Sinclair International, together they raised over £12,000.

Fundraising activities for CIM included Run Norwich 10k in July, and more recently Mark challenged the business community to Connect 4. With over 50 games played, a suggested donation of £10 paid by the loser saw the donations increase by £600 to hit their final amount of £4,431.

It highlighted how many people are affected by breast cancer, we had customers, suppliers and even a work colleague who had indirectly been affected, calling up to thank us for working with Little Lifts and raising money for them to carry on the great work that they do.
